When you find a good contractor never let them go and Done Right Renovations is that contractor for us. They first impressed me in 2010 when they installed new toilets in our home. Instead of just installing with the hardware that came with the toilets, they used their own brass bolts and washers. Why? Because it had to be Done Right. Since then we have contracted Cory and Dick to remodel our: Ensuite bathroom, Powder room and main bathroom. They even rebuilt our 800 Sq. Ft. deck, redid all the cladding around the house and repaired any water damage. And that’s the point with them, if they find any issues they will fix them guaranteed. Both materials are great alternatives to solid hardwood floors and can achieve that desirable wood-like look for a fraction of the cost. The most important difference between the two types of flooring is their top layer. Laminate flooring use an image layer with a transparent wear layer, while engineered hardwood actually contains a thick veneer of real wood protected by a clear acrylic coating.
The reason why a lot of bathroom flooring is made from porcelain/ceramic tile, vinyl, or stone is because they are waterproof. Porcelain tile is the best alternative for a stylish, waterproof, and cost-effective floor. Excessive moisture can compromise the integrity of organic materials over time – primarily wood floors. Carpets are also not the best option because they hold moisture in.
For the longest lasting floor, we recommend hardwood floors. If cared for properly, they can have a lifespan of over 100 years. Hardwood floors are prone to scratching but they can be refinished and made like new around 5 times throughout its use.
For bathrooms and laundry rooms, we recommend tile flooring. Porcelain and ceramic tiles require little to no maintenance, are cost-effective, and are moisture resistant.
Nylon. It is extremely durable, easy to clean, and is stain resistant if treated with stain protection. It’s the perfect choice for areas of heavy traffic and for homes with pets. It is also incredibly versatile and can be customized to any style and colour!
